Fear and Food Choices

September 9, 2011

I’ve said several times throughout blogs that fear shouldn’t be a part of food choices. I started reading a book, The Leadership Secrets of Colin Powell” by Oren Harari and in the first paragraph was a phrase that described it beautifully.

The clip said “…frightened people don’t take initiative or responsibility…” – now with that swirling in your head connect the dots. Frightened, fearful people settle for their food. Not choosing, not taking responsibility for choices but taking for or away from some other food.

I don’t want to live like that and don’t want our customers to live like that. Fear isn’t productive. You can’t prevent everything, but CAN prepare and CHOOSE around it, and be willing to accept the responsibility for those food choices. And isn’t that much more empowering?!
